Prakar - 10

Dohā

Preme karine pujā tani, harijane na puri hosha.

Sevi na shakyā swamine, ati rahi gayo apashosha... 1

With love, they performed the Lord’s puja, yet the devotees were still not satisfied. They did not get a chance to serve their Lord, as this desire was left unfulfilled... 1

Matsyādika morye dharyā, asankhyāta avatāra.

Kāraja nimita navā navā, tana dharyā niradhāra... 2

God assumed Matsya and countless other avatars. He assumed a new avatār for each of the different tasks... 2

Jala sthalamā jānajo, avatāra dharyā chhe aneka.

Sarve jivane sukha āpavā, hoye na hoya e eka... 3

In the water and the land, countless avatārs have come on this earth. To give all jivas happiness, there is always one avatār present... 3

Sevakane sevi sukha levu, kevu thayā puranakāma.

Ema na mānyu jana mana, tyāre pragatiyā Ghanshyama... 4

The devotees wanted to serve and attain true happiness and become fully satisfied. But when the devotees did not feel contect with the bliss they received, Maharaj took birth... 4

Chopāi

Mahā motā Matsya avatāra re, pana rahyā jala mojhāra re.

Mānavie tene na malāyare, vana male agnāna na jāya re... 5

The great Matsya avatār stayed in waters. Humans were not able to meet this form, which means they cannot rid their ignorance... 5

Anna jara ambara ābhushana re, tela fulela sugandhi pana re.

Attara chandana pushpani mālā re, tene puji shu thayā sukhālā re... 6

Who was able to worship the Matsya avatar with food, water, clothes, ornaments, oil, scented oils, scented fragrances, sandalwood or flower garlands and attain happiness...6

Karyā kāyeka jivanā kāja re, pachhi padhāryā dhāma Mahārāja re.

Kachchha prabhu pana krupā kari re, āvyā jana arthe tana dhari re... 7

After Matsya accomplished many tasks for a number of jivas, the avatār returned to his abode.

The avatār of Kachchha showed compassion and came onto this earth for the people... 7

Je arthe āvyā avināsha re, karyo te tane tevo samāsa re.

Bahu jivane artha na āvyā re, āvi deva dānava samajāvyā re... 8

The reason that the avatār came on the earth was achieved with the respective body it assumed. But he did not come for the sake of many jivas; rather, he came to make the devas and dānavs come to an understanding... 8

[In the Kachchha avatār, God came as a turtle because he needed to provide support for the mountain the devās and dānavs used to churn the ocean. Therefore, depending on the task, God assumes the appropratie body. Similarly, in the Matsya avatār, he came as a fish to save man from the deluge. Nishkulanand Swami is pointing out that God assumes the appropriate body depending on the task; howeer, by doing so, not everyone experienced the happiness from that avatār.]

Vapu Vārāha vālama lidhu re, pruthvinu te kārya kidhu re.

Tene pana bijā bahu mali re, sukha na lidhu sevine vali re... 9

Varah avatār came on earth, too, to restore earth in its proper place. Again many did not come into contact with Varah, so no one gained happiness from serving him... 9

Nrusinha rupa na uttama tana re, dhāri uddhāriyā nijajana re.

Pana krodhe bharyā bhayankāra re, kema sevi shake naranāra re... 10

Narasinha avatār came in a superior body to save his own devotee (Prahlad). But he was filled with anger and appeared frightful. How can men and women serve him... 10

Vāmanajie vapune dhāri re, lidhi pruthavi pinda vadhāri re.

Bali bole bāndhyo bahu pera re, pachhi vara dai vasiyā ghera re... 11

Vaman avatār assumed a body. He increased his body and covered the Mrutry, Swarga, and Patal in two steps. King Bali was bound by his words (gave his body for the third step), So Vaman promised to stay with him in Patal (during the 4 months of Chaturmas)... 11

Parashurāma rupe pragata thai re, kari nakshatri pruthavi laire.

Temā sahuno na thayo samāsa re, sevi sukha na pāmiyā dāsa re... 12

Parushram avatār came onto earth and destroyed many Kshatriyas from the earth. No one benefited from this task and no one gained happiness by serving him... 12

Rāmarupa dhari thayā raja re, karyā motā motā bahu kāja re.

Te to lakhānā lākho tekāne re, deva dānava mānava jāne re... 13

Ram avatār came onto earth as a king and accomplished many great tasks. These achievements are written in thousands of places; the devas, dānavs, and humans know of this... 13

Pana dina dāsa rahi pāsa re, puji puri kari nahi āsha re.

Shu āpine oshigala thāya re, rānke rājāne kema pujāya re... 14

But he did not stay with his meek devotees; so they were unable to fulfil their desire to

serve him. What can they possibly give to satisfy a king? How can a poor man serve a king?... 14

Krushnāvatāramā kridā kari re, bahu tāryā e avatāra dhari re.

Te chhe vāta Purāne prasiddha re, lakhi Vyāsajie bahu vidha re... 15

Krishna avatār came onto earth and performed many divine feats. He uplifted many jivas. This is well known and written in the Shrimad Bhagvad Puran as written by Vyasji in great detail... 15

Didhā sevakane sukha bhāri re, sevi sukha pāmyā naranāri re.

Pana emanā ema na rahyā re, pachhi rājā-adhirāja thayā re... 16

He gave a abundant happiness to his devotees, and his devotees attained happiness through serving him. But he did not remain like that; he became a king (such that his devotees could not

serve him)... 16

Tyāre sahune malyānu sukha re, na rahyu thayu dāsane dukha re.

Buddha Kalaki be avatāra re, prayojane pruthavi mojhāra re... 17

Then the happiness from meeting him ceased and they became unhappy again. Buddha and Kalaki are another two avatārs that come on the earth for a specific reason... 17

Te to kari liye jyāre kāma re, pāchhā padhāre potāne dhāma re.

Eha ādi bahu avatāra re, te to avatārinā niradhāra re... 18

Once their task is finished, they returned back to their own abodes. There are many avatars that are determined by their cause – the avatāri (Maharaj)... 18

Pana sarve rite sukhakāri re, te to Purushottama avatāri re.

Teha pote padhāryā chhe āja re, Aksharadhāmanā dhāmi Mahārāja re... 19

But the one who can give happiness in all ways is none other than the avatāri, Purushottam Narayan. He himself has come today; he is the one who dwells in Akshardham... 19

Māte sarve rite sevyā jevā re, āja alabelo thayā chhe evā re.

Sahu janani puravā hāma re, āvyā āpe kahu Ghanshyama re... 20

Therefore, he can be served in all ways now; that is the type of form he assumed today. To fulfil the wishes of all devotees, I say that he has come as Shriji Maharaj... 20
