Gadhada III-39: Vishalyakarani Herbal Medicine

Nirupan

Gunātitānand Swāmi says, “Jadbharat said to King Rahugan that the path the Vedas have shown – that of the moral do’s and don’ts - does not come into consideration for one who is a brahmavettā (i.e. one who knows Brahma). According to his understanding, one should only realize both ātmā and Paramātmā.”

Based on this, Swāmi had Vachanāmrut Gadhadā III-39 read and said, “The principle that Mahārāj establishes in this Vachanāmrut is also the same; that one should only truly have fervor for ātmā and Paramātmā.”

[Swāmini Vāto: 1/207]

Gunātitānand Swāmi says, “The ātmā is extremely luminous. Believing it to be separate from the gross, subtle and causal bodies, contemplate that ‘I am ātmā and this manifest Purushottam Bhagwān is ever present in me.’ And all these talks are stated in the ‘Vishalyakarani Herbal Medicine’ Vachanamrut (Gadhadā III-39). Such talks are, to some extent, in all the Vachanāmruts and may be absent in some. The contemplation of the ātmā in the mind should continue, ‘I am ātmā, I am Akshar.’ And if this is continually done, one attains the state of Akshar.”

[Swāmini Vāto: 6/22]

August 1959, Mumbai. Yogiji Mahārāj said, “What is the knowledge of ātmā and Paramātmā? According to Gadhadā III-39, a true satsangi is one who understands the knowledge of both ātmā and Paramātmā. One who has reinforced their status as a satsangi in this manner will never fall back. Such a satsangi never depends on his body; rather one remains dependent only on God. If one becomes worthy, the great Purush would give that knowledge and help one to attain that state of understanding.

“There are four types of herbal medicines: sandhini, varnaharni, vishalyakarani, and sanjivani. Their four forms: dharma, gnān, vairāgya and bhakti. The four Vachanāmruts relating to these are Gadhadā II-28, Loyā 7, Gadhadā III-39 and Gadhadā II-10 respectively; these four Vachanāmruts should be perfected.”

[Brahmaswarup Yogiji Mahārāj: 2/600]

Yogiji Mahārāj said, “This jiva harbors worldly desires until its final moments. One should forsake these desires and desire only the divine abode. What does it mean to desire only the divine abode? Constant awareness that I want to attain Akshardhām and not stay in this world. In addition, remain aware of ātmā and Paramātmā. According to Vachanāmrut Gadhadā III-39, one should should be passionate of these two in such a way that one transforms internally; however, such passion can only arise from staying in the company of the Satpurush and understanding his greatness.”

[Yogi Vani: 6/13]

Gunātitānand Swāmi said, “There are many pious deeds, but none are equal to satsang. We have attained that satsang. What is that? According to ‘Vishalyakarani Herbal Medicine’ Vachanāmrut, it is the knowledge of ātmā and Paramātmā - i.e. believing that one’s ātmā, which is eternal, to be Akshar and join Paramātmā (who is Mahārāj). There is no pious deed equal to that.”

[Aksharāmrutam: 19/21]

Gunātitānand Swāmi says, “There is no alternative to the fact that we will have to die. But without understanding, many deficiencies remain in the jiva. It is extremely rare for satsang to enter the jiva. What is satsang? Mahārāj has revealed in the ‘Vishalyakarani Herbal Medicine’ Vachanāmrut: ātmā and Paramātmā. The sadhu is one’s ātmā and Paramātmā is Mahārāj. A thorough conviction of these two in the jiva is very rare and there is nothing greater than this.

[Aksharāmrutam: 19/29]
