People in the Vachanamrut is an attempt to index all of the characters that appear or are mentioned in the Vachanamrut text. The characters are grouped to make it easier to find the character you are looking for. Also, you can also find the character by Prakaran.

The category of ‘Avatars’ includes the 10 or 24 avatārs of Vishnu that incarnate on the earth, such as Varāh, Vāman, Kapildev, Rām, Krishna, etc. The Ishwars category include forms that do not incarnate on the earth. For example, Shiva, Brahmā, Vishnu, Pradyumna, Sankarshan, etc.

Other characters that appear in Hindu scriptures are placed in ‘People in Shastras’ category. In certain cases, there may be one name referring to different characters. For example, when Maharaj speaks of ‘Chaturvyuh’, he mentions Pradyumna as an ishwar; however, in another case, he mentions Pradyumna as one of Krishna’s sons.

I hope you find this information helpful.
