Gadhada I-6: One with Wisdom and One without Wisdom

Nirupan

April 10, 1970. Dar es Salaam. In the afternoon, Yogiji Maharaj explained Gadhada I-6, “Since we have the company of Bhagwan and the Sant, we should become gungrāhak (perceivers of only virtues). Dattātreya found virtues in 24 gurus. He was a viveki (one with wisdom). Were there virtues in a prostitute and others? Yet he found one virtue in each one.

“Everyone has faults, but a viveki is one who grasps the good virtues and leaves the rest. One who only sees his own virtues is an aviveki (one without wisdom).

“What is greatness? Peace in one’s heart. One thousand people following you is not greatness. One who does not perceive anyone’s faults will experience tranquility in their heart. When one belong to a Sant, then the Sant will scold even without a fault of his own. Others will take the scolding in the wrong way… When the Motā-Purush scolds, understand that that is for our own betterment – one who perceives this way will progress.”

[Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj: 6/133]
