Gadhada II-6: A Draft; The Nature of the Chitt

Summary

1. Just as one acquires money from a draft written by a wealthy businessman, similarly, one attains liberation by abiding by the dharma expounded in the scriptures by a great Purush.
2. One who does not have faith in the moral do’s and don’ts should be regarded as a grave sinner and his company should be shunned.
3. The chitt is extremely pure, therefore, it can visualise whatever object it recalls.
4. Whenever the chitt remembers good and bad objects, then believing one’s ātmā to be distinct from the chitt:

1. Worship God.
2. Not become frustrated by the pure and impure thoughts arising in the chitt.
3. Always remain joyful.
