Gadhada I-50: One Possessing a Sharp Intellect

Gunātitānand Swami said, “Should those who did not associate with Mahārāj when he was present and those who do not associate with the great Sadhu now be understood as wise? True intelligence is only that which is gained by learning from a great Sadhu and is useful in attaining liberation; otherwise, it is not intelligence. Mahārāj used to say, ‘Nath Bhakta is wise and Diwānji is foolish.’”
ગુણાતીતાનંદ સ્વામી કહે, “મહારાજ વિરાજતા ત્યારે પણ જેણે સમાગમ કર્યો નથી ને આજ પણ જે મોટા સંતનો સમાગમ નથી કરતા, તેને શું વધુ બુદ્ધિવાળા સમજવા? માટે બુદ્ધિ તો એટલી જ જે, મોટા સાધુથી શીખે ને મોક્ષના કામમાં આવે, બાકી બુદ્ધિ નહીં. તે મહારાજ કહેતા જે, ‘નાથ ભક્ત બુદ્ધિવાળા છે ને દીવાનજી મૂર્ખ છે.’”
