Gadhada I-23: Emptying a Pot of Water; Remaining in an Elevated Spiritual State

October 3, 1976. In the evening, Swamishri Pramukh Swami Maharaj ferried in the river of Gondal. He bathed Thakorji in the water and also bathed with everyone else. Later that night, Swamishri explained the essence of Gadhada I-23:

“What is the characteristic of love? To believe the words of the Satpurush without employing any doubts or logic. ‘Light’ (prakāsh) is when one experiences joy listening to his talks or having his darshan. This (referring to himself or the Sant in general) is the manifest form of God. When one realizes that Shriji Maharaj resides in the form of the Sant, then that is considered having seen the murti within the light. One should maintain nirdosh-bhāv in him. One speaks of maintaining nirdhosh-bhāv but when speaking personally to others, he shows the faults of the Satpurush - so how can one become nirdosh? One has not developed a deep understanding; one has not put bandages on the wound. Therefore, one becomes perplexed. Are we here to talk about the body, our swabhāvs, and about frying bhajiyā? When one develops the deep understanding, then these thoughts would not come to mind. Who have we attained? Remain ecstatic about this attainment. One turns the mālā in some instances and in other instances, he hurts someone with the mālā - one should not change their state of mind like that. When one’s resolves change like that, one cannot achieve an elevated state. Whatever he (the Sant) likes should be liked by us. Whatever is pleasing to him should be pleasing to us.”

તા. ૩/૧૦/૧૯૭૬ની સાંજે ગોંડલીના નીરમાં નૌકાવિહાર કર્યો. ઠાકોરજીને સ્નાન કરાવી સ્વયં પણ સૌ સાથે ન્હાયા. આ ક્રીડા સાથે કથાનો કાંટો મેળવતાં રાત્રે ગઢડા પ્રથમ પ્રકરણના ત્રેવીસમા વચનામૃત પર નિરૂપણ કરતાં સ્વામીશ્રીએ કહ્યું:

“હેતનું લક્ષણ શું? સત્પુરુષ કહે તે તર્ક-વિતર્ક વગર માનવું. તેઓની વાતોથી, દર્શનથી આનંદ થાય તે પ્રકાશ. મહારાજનું આ સાક્ષાત્ સ્વરૂપ છે. તે સ્વરૂપને વિષે શ્રીજીમહારાજનો ભાવ થઈ જાય તે પ્રકાશને વિષે મૂર્તિ દેખાણી કહેવાય. તેમને વિષે નિર્દોષભાવ રાખવો. કહેવામાં નિર્દોષભાવની વાત કરે પણ બીજા આગળ દોષની વાત કરે તો ક્યાંથી નિર્દોષ થાય? ઘેડ બેઠી નથી, પાટો ગોઠ્યો નથી. તેથી ઘડભાંજ થાય છે. દેહની વાતો, સ્વભાવની વાતો, ભજિયાં તળવાની વાતો અહીં કરવાની છે? ઘેડ બેસે પછી વિચાર કે સંકલ્પ આવે નહીં. આપણને કોણ મળ્યા છે! તેનો અખંડ કેફ રાખવો. ઘડીકમાં માળા ફેરવે ને ઘડીકમાં તે જ માળાથી કોઈને મારે. માટે ઘડીક ઘડીકમાં સ્થિતિ ફેરવવી નહીં. ફેરવણી કરીએ તો સ્થિતિ ન બંધાય. એમને ગમ્યું તે આપણને ગમ્યું. તેમને અનુકૂળ તે આપણને અનુકૂળ.”
