Prasang 1

Samvat 1969, Sārangpur. Shāstriji Mahārāj’s sadhus woke up early in the morning and went to bathe in the sanctified well (in which a pump is installed currently) and carried back a clay pot full of water on their head.

One early morning, Sadhu Harikrishnadās was heading back to the mandir with a clay pot full of water on his head. Rānābhāi Darbār (from Jhinjhar) saw Harikrishnadās as he was going to bathe and remarked, “Sadhu, why are you tormenting yourself like this - carrying water on your head... no shoes on your feet. Forsake this attachment [to Shāstriji Mahārāj] and come to our mandir. You will live like a king.”

Hearing such words from his misunderstanding, Harikrishnadās replied, “When you meet our Swami (Shāstriji Mahārāj) and listen to his talks, then you will understand if we are doing all this for some selfish motive or rather to please Mahārāj. Come to Swami’s room and he’ll clear your misunderstanding. Moreover, sadhus like us should only do sevā daily. If we wanted to live like kings, why would we have renounced our home?”

The Darbār was struck with these words. Being a mumukshu from a previous birth, he agreed, “I’ll meet Swami after bathing.” Harikrishnadās returned to Shāstriji Mahārāj and told him what had happened. Shāstriji Mahārāj was pleased and said, “When one understands mahimā this way and necessity for their liberation awakens, then one has truly learned how to please the Motā-Purush.”

The Darbār met Shāstriji Mahārāj in his room after bathing, prostrated, sat before Shāstriji Mahārāj and said, “I’ve heard many, many things about you; however, being influenced by words like: ‘you are all outcasts from Vartāl and all of you are bandiyā’ from those who oppose you, I never came for your darshan.”

Swāmishri subtly laughed and said, “You have great sanskārs from your previous life, hence you have been able to come here. Bring the Vachanāmrut.” Shāstriji Mahārāj had him read Gadhadā I-21 (where Shriji Mahārāj explains the two forms of Akshar), Gadhadā I-71 (where Shriji Mahārāj said Bhagwān manifests on the earth along with his Akshardhām), Gadhadā II-59 (where Shriji Mahārāj says only those who have accumulated a great number of merits from performing good deeds receive the opportunity to serve Bhagwān’s Sant), and Vartāl 5 (where Shriji Mahārāj says by performing with extreme affection such similar service of Bhagwān and the Sant who possesses the highest qualities, even if he is a devotee of the lowest type and was destined to become a devotee of the highest type after two lives, or after four lives, or after ten lives, or after 100 lives, he will become a devotee of the highest calibre in this very life).

Shāstriji Mahārāj had all these Vachanāmruts read and explained that such a Sant with the highest qualities is Gunātitānand Swāmi who is the eternal Aksharbrahman; and the fundamental principle of upāsanā is to offer upāsanā having identified one’s self as Akshar.

Hearing the clear principles from the Vachanāmrut, Rānābhāi understood upāsanā perfectly.

Prasang 2

Samvat 1966. One day, Ambārām Bhagat came to Bochāsan from Bhādaran. Harikrishnadās perceived him as a great sadhu and served him according to his ability. Once, when he was sitting with Ambārām Bhagat, he told him that he had seen immense light from the murti of Shāstriji Mahārāj. Ambārām Bhagat said, “You have been blessed by Swāmishri so he showed you his true form. Become one with him with a singular firmness.”

He then added, “Harikrishnadās! We are very fortunate that we have obtained a Sant who has a direct relationship with Shriji Mahārāj. I also have this firm faith. I once had doubts whether we can meditate on the form of the guru. Last year, I went to Kathāriya where I was engaged in mānsi when this doubt arose. Swāmishri, accompanied by Prabhudās Kothāri, instantly gave me darshan. Prabhudās Kothāri pointed to Swāmishri and said, ‘Bhagat, you will experience peace when you meditate on this form.’ From that day on, my doubts became uprooted. Now I experience such bliss that I cannot describe it. When you become one with Swāmishri - who is the manifest form of Shriji Mahārāj - you will also experience the same bliss.”
