ઈશ્વરો
વાસુદેવ એ ચતુર્વ્યૂહમાંના (વાસુદેવ, અનિરુદ્ધ, પ્રદ્યુમ્ન, સંકર્ષણમાંના) એક છે. તેમાં વાસુદેવ મુખ્ય છે. તે ઈશ્વરકોટિનું ચૈતન્ય તત્ત્વ છે. તે પરબ્રહ્મના અનુપ્રવેશથી સામર્થ્ય પ્રાપ્ત કરે છે. આ સ્વરૂપ પૃથ્વી પર અવતરતું નથી. તે સૃષ્ટિની ઉત્પત્તિમાં સહાયક બને છે. તે પીતાંબર, વનમાળા, કિરીટ મુકુટ વગેરે શણગારો ધારણ કરે છે. તે ચતુર્ભુજ છે. તેમના ચારેય હાથોમાં જમણા નીચેના હાથથી આરંભીને અનુક્રમે અભય હસ્ત, ચક્ર, શંખ અને ગદા છે. શ્વેતદ્વીપમાં નિરન્નમુક્તો વડે સેવાયેલા વાસુદેવનારાયણ તથા ચતુર્વ્યૂહમાંના વાસુદેવ બંને એક નથી.

Ishwars
Vāsudev is one of the four emanations in the chatur-vyuha (the four emanations). The other three emanations are Aniruddha, Pradyumna, and Sankarshan. Vāsudev is the chief of these. He is of the ishwar category and gains powers when Parabrahma enters him and inspires him. This form does not incarnate on the earth. Vāsudev aids in the creation process. He is ornate with a Pitambar, Vanmālā, Kirit Mukut, etc. He has four arms. In his four hands, starting with the lower right hand, his holds a abhay-hasta (gesture of blessing), chakra (disc), shankha (conch shell), and gadā (mace). The Vāsudev-narayan, who is worshipped by the niranna-muktas of Shwetdvip, is different from the Vāsudev of the Chaturvyuha.
