મનુના કહેવા પ્રમાણે બ્રહ્માજી એ જ હિરણ્યગર્ભ છે. ઋગ્વેદમાં કહ્યું છે કે પ્રારંભમાં હિરણ્યગર્ભ થયા તે જ ભૂતમાત્રના અધિષ્ઠાતા હતા એ જ સ્વર્ગ અને પૃથ્વીને ધારણ કરી રહ્યા હતા, એ જ જીવ અને પ્રાણદાતા હાત.

According to Manu, Brahmāji is Hiranyagarbh Rishi. In the Rigved, it is mentioned that, Hiranyagarbh that lived in the beginning was the one who presided over the living beings. He also supported the swarg and pruthvi and he was the bestower of life.
